Kazan hosts meeting of Belarus and Russia PMs
Kazan is hosting a dialogue at the level of the premiers of Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan on Eurasian integration and bilateral relations. Tatarstan became a seat of the Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union.
The forum starts tomorrow. It will be dedicated to the economy of the union, equal trade, provision of domestic markets with all necessary products in the pandemic time, as well as industrial cooperation for the next five years. Several approaches to bilateral cooperation have already been discussed during today's meetings of the Belarusian governmental delegation.
A dialogue on practical steps towards Eurasian integration was held on the eve of the big talk in the narrow and extended format of the Intergovernmental Council. The guests got familiar with the achievements in various fields at Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center: digital technologies, medical developments as well as KAMAZ passenger buses and special vehicles. Tatarstan is famous for its mechanical engineering, and cooperation with Belarusians yields good results. Our engines are used in local vehicles. Their reliability has been tested for almost two decades.
Alabuga Special Economic Zone is more than fifteen years old, and during that time it has become the most successful territory in Russia, attractive for investment. Today, there are almost six dozen companies here, and they are all leaders in their industry. The discussion of common approaches to the formation of special economic clusters and sharing experience (we also have free economic zones, HTP and the Great Stone) was the main objective of the Belarusian Prime Minister today.
