Vladimir Makei makes sensational statement to Agency of TV News

"We are grateful to the UN leadership for appreciating the role of Belarus in this area. Both the Secretary-General and the Under-Secretary-General underscored the importance of continuing joint efforts aimed at consolidating peace and stability in the region. We have agreed on specific actions in this area. With regard to the meeting with the UN Secretary General, I had to point out a number of problematic issues that have recently emerged in our relations with the organization. We pointed to the inadmissibility of the use of certain UN structures to demonise Belarus, to discredit Belarus for absolutely far-fetched politically motivated reasons. It turned out he was not even aware of some things andthat some of his aides (and these aides, as we know, are representatives of the European Union Member States)are doing things behind his back. And if in the near future there will be relevant materials published at the behest of these aides to the Secretary-General, we will point to some UN team members in Belarus, who used the UN funds allocated for people with disabilities to support the participants of the protests. We have informed the Secretary General about this, although we had previously agreed not to publicise these facts, but since this organisation has violated the agreements, we will make the appropriate conclusions and inform our society and all our partners within the UN."
