Meeting of the tripartite contact group held in Minsk

The participants agreed on the beginning of a summer truce in eastern Ukraine. This was stated by the OSCE Special Representative Martin Sajdik. The truce declared in connection with the beginning of harvesting, comes into force on July 1. Also, the parties to the conflict once again confirmed their commitment to the full implementation of Minsk agreements.

And today another conflict was discussed in the Belarusian capital, the Nagorny Karabakh conflict. The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of our country Vladimir Makei met with the co-chairs of Minsk Group from Russia, the United States and France, as well as with the personal representative of the OSCE on Nagorny Karabakh conflict. The diplomats informed the minister about the situation in the Transcaucasian region. They also spoke about the possible contribution of Belarus to the resolution of the crisis. The OSCE Minsk Group was established in 1992, at the peak of the armed confrontation in Nagorny Karabakh.
