Large-scale meeting on countering sanctions held in Palace of Independence
Given the sanctions, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko demands maximum assistance to domestic producers. He said this today at a meeting on the counteraction to sanctions, BelTA informs.
"No one has promised us a peaceful life, because we are fighting for our land and for the right to be the masters of it. That's why now, more than ever before, we need to mobilize all the resources, industrial, technological, financial and intellectual, so that both people and enemies could see that we are a well-established state," said the Belarusian leader.
While implementing countermeasures in response to the Western sanctions, Belarus should ensure the saturation of the market with necessary goods and prevent the growth of prices. Such tasks were set by the head of state during a meeting on counteraction to sanctions.
"Our countermeasures are not aimed at some revenge. The task is to use the prevailing conditions for our benefit," said the head of state.
He stressed that people should not suffer as a result of such measures. "The issue should be considered from at least two positions, the saturation of the market with the necessary goods and inadmissibility of prices growth. I strictly warn everyone present about the need to comply with both conditions."
To this end, the government, National Bank, local authorities and parliamentarians will have to adopt a package of measures to support and develop the domestic industry, expand the production of goods and services in demand.
"If a local producer is ready to take over the domestic market, where foreign competitors used to dominate, we have to give the green light to such initiatives and provide maximum assistance to them at all levels of government. Think how to help such initiatives," said Alexander Lukashenko.
Alexander Lukashenko pointed out that the Presidential Administration and parliamentary leaders should adopt proposals to shift the center of gravity of decision-making to the governors. "They do not have to run around government offices and ask the President for some unnecessary approvals. I would like you to hear it and implement it," -the head of state said. - I would like everyone to hear me, from the chairman of the village executive committee to the Prime Minister, as well as law enforcement and regulatory authorities. If the additional authority for governors to make fast decisions on the spot is needed, you should make your suggestions immediately."
"There is a war going on. And now there’s no time for paperwork," stressed the Belarusian leader.
