Issues of medical partnership development discussed at SCO conference in Beijing

Modern challenges in the field of healthcare forced the world to take a new look at the issues of global interaction. Beijing hosted a conference of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on the development of medical and pharmaceutical partnership.

The participants of the Beijing meeting discussed the urgent issues of strengthening pharmaceutical cooperation. During the discussions there were repeated calls to pay more attention to cooperation of member and observer states and SCO dialogue partners in the field of pharmaceutics on the basis of mutual trust, benefit, equality and respect. This is more important and relevant today than ever before! Bilateral cooperation between Belarus and China in the field of healthcare is developing very intensively. Last year, a total of 4.5 million doses of Chinese vaccine against coronavirus infection were supplied to our country as part of humanitarian aid and commercial purchases.

The organizers of the Conference are unanimous in the opinion that it is necessary to jointly create a platform of interaction between the relevant bodies of the SCO countries in the field of pharmaceuticals. This is important to strengthen the sector and promote global cooperation in the field of healthcare. All forum participants supported this SCO initiative. The parties are ready to make necessary efforts to improve the well-being of the peoples of their countries as it affects the future health of literally several billions of people living on our planet.
