Lukashenko's state visit to China is over
The state visit of President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to China is over. The plane of the head of state left Beijing, BelTA informs.
The day before, the Belarusian head of state had formal talks with the President of China and senior Chinese officials. They discussed a wide range of issues of further development of cooperation, filling the new level of the Belarusian-Chinese relations with practical content.
Alexander Lukashenko and Xi Jinping adopted a joint statement on further development of the exemplary relations of all-weather and all-round strategic partnership between Belarus and China in the new era.
Belarus and China signed almost four dozen agreements and contracts worth $3.5 billion during the state visit.
"27 intergovernmental, interdepartmental and interregional agreements, about eight commercial contracts in various fields including industrial and agricultural activities have been signed. And this is not the limit. And we expect this package to increase," Foreign Minister of Belarus Sergei Aleinik told reporters in the morning of 2 March in Beijing.
The documents concern the development of cooperation in a variety of areas, including investment, agriculture, food supplies, healthcare, construction, industry, scientific and technical cooperation, sports, tourism, and media.
In addition, a large package of documents signed as part of Alexander Lukashenko's state visit to China touches upon interregional cooperation, finance, banking sector, trade information support and cooperation through the Red Cross organization.
On the last day of the visit, Alexander Lukashenko met with the leadership of major Chinese corporations to discuss investments in various spheres and cooperation in the automotive industry.
