А. Lukashenko: The status of the civil service will be raised high, but so will the requirements

Serving the country and the people! This is the task that the President has set today for the civil service institutions. A new law on civil service is being drafted. Last year MPs voted for new approaches. But no results were achieved. Then the President called on to take another look at all nuances of the document to avoid hasty decisions and avoid any doubts about development of the most important public institution. Being a public servant should be prestigioud, but also responsible.

Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus: "I think that the most important thing in this respect is human resources. We need to employ not only qualified and motivated professionals able to resolve important tasks fast. We need people who are truly government officials. If we have the right staff, the system will work too. When a person enters the service, he should understand that his main duty is to serve the country and the Belarusian people."
