Alexander Lukashenko meets with Marianna Shchetkina

The President held a meeting with Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and National Coordinator for Sustainable Development Marianna Shchetkina.

Alexander Lukashenko noted that every country is interested in implementing the 17 Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the UN. Among them is the eradication of poverty, ensuring food security, energy access, and gender equality. Belarus is actively working in all these areas. A national SDGs forum is expected to be held with the participation of representatives of the authorities, the civil society, businesses, and academia.

Major public organizations were also in the focus of the discussion. Marianna Shchetkina heads the Women's Union. Also, the issue of the decree on the promotion of employment was touched upon.
