Protection of interests of citizens is special topic in Union State

This was stated by President Alexander Lukashenko during the session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State.

Negotiations with participation of the leaders of Belarus and Russia are currently taking place in Minsk. The head of the Belarusian state notes that last year the countries overcame the process of reducing mutual trade turnover and ensured its growth. Now it is important to facilitate the positive trend, in particular, by eliminating mutual barriers and withdrawals and creating equal competitive trade environment. The President also touched upon the topic of border control at the Belarusian-Russian border.

Shortly before that, the leaders of the two countries had held talks in a narrow format. Alexander Lukashenko warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed hope for a successful outcome for the match with Egypt.

Over a hundred journalists are accredited to the meeting of the Supreme State Council.

Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev commented on dairy disputes between Belarus and Russia for the TV News Agency.

At the moment the participants of the Supreme State Council continue to discuss the agenda of the meeting. It includes a program of concerted actions in the field of foreign policy, development of bilateral relations, implementation of joint projects and interaction within the framework of various integrations.
