Security of entire continent depends on cohesion in the region
Belarus is making efforts to stabilize the regional situation, rather than sway it. After all, our security depends on the situation around. The President said this at a meeting with a group of American analysts.
Several reputable experts from the United States arrived in Minsk at once. Among them, for example, there are representatives of the Jamestown Foundation and the Center for European Policy. This meeting is important not only for the Belarusian-American relations, but also for the entire region. The situation in Eastern Europe remains very difficult. Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that Belarus is a young and sovereign state with an independent domestic and foreign policy. And our country has a pragmatic position on a wide range of international security issues. Restoring normal relations with the United States, maintaining good neighborly relations with the European Union, expanding its partnership with NATO, Belarus is building an equal dialogue with everyone in the framework of strengthening regional security.
Many of the experts are not the first time in Belarus. The analytical centers that they represent inform American society and political scientists about events in Eurasia. They regularly publish materials on Belarusian topics. Therefore, it is important for them to hear firsthand the key points on the most complex issues of politics, security and economics. Such frank communication with the Belarusian leader is an opportunity to come closer to a better understanding of each other. By the way, in recent years there has been noticeable progress in relations between Minsk and Washington.
Analysts from the United States spent several days in Belarus. During the visit, meetings were held in the Ministry of Defense and the Foreign Ministry. The guests also visited the High-Tech Park and the Museum of the Great Patriotic War.
