Lukashenko tells about non-public talks with representatives of Western states

“In the pre-election period, everyone takes an exam. I once came up with a good formula: not only the incumbent President, but all of us pass an exam in front of our people. Today everything is focused on Belarus. Believe me, everything is on Belarus,” said Alexander Lukashenko.
“Yesterday (Friday, October 18 - BELTA's note) I had a non-public day, but very hard. Very complicated, difficult, but interesting negotiations with representatives of Western countries. And talking to them, I realized how closely they are watching us. How meticulously they look for, study our mistakes and our successes. And when there is no media, they speak honestly and frankly,” the head of state said.
“You know (and even the richest countries were represented), they envy us. They envy us because we know how to work, live, celebrate. They envy us because we, a small country by standards, have found our own way of development and have walked it with dignity.”
