Lukashenko announces visit to Iran in mid-March
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced his visit to Iran in mid-March. This was stated by the Head of State at a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Saeed Yari, BelTA informs.
"You know that I'm planning to visit Iran in the near future, in mid-March, at the invitation of the President of Iran. And there we will discuss important issues of our relations," said the Belarusian leader. I am absolutely convinced that this will be our most important meeting and talks in Iran, and it will take us to a higher level of cooperation. But the main thing is that we should not waste this moment and this time to establish our relations at a higher level."
While talking to journalists, the Iranian ambassador emphasized that the upcoming visit of the President of Belarus is a historic moment in the relations between the two countries. "During the meeting we discussed important issues of bilateral relations. I conveyed to the esteemed President that everything has been prepared and we have done everything necessary to organize his visit to Iran. The visit of the head of state to Iran is of great importance for us. There are very important issues on the agenda, both in political and trade-economic terms. The relations between Iran and Belarus are now at their peak. And we are confident that after the visit of the President of Belarus to Iran our relations will be developing further," the diplomat said.
The visit of the Belarusian head of state will take place on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the countries. Moreover, 2023 will be declared the Year of Friendship between Iran and Belarus.
