Lukashenko: Belarus interested in further deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation with Republic of Singapore in various areas

On behalf of the Belarusian people and on his own behalf, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated President of the Republic of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam and all Singaporeans on Independence Day. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the press service of the Belarusian leader.

"The history of sovereign Singapore clearly demonstrates that in the modern world the influence and significance of the state is determined not only and not so much by its size, geographical location, availability of natural resources as by the strength of spirit and diligence of its people," the head of state said.

Alexander Lukashenko drew attention to the fact that our countries are bound by long-standing relations of friendship and trust, aspiration to preserve and strengthen independence, sustainable development, enhance the role of small and medium-sized states in the international arena.

The President emphasized: "The Republic of Belarus is interested in further deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Singapore in the areas of economy, trade, food security, expansion of inter-parliamentary, business and humanitarian contacts."

The Head of State wished the President of Singapore and his relatives health and happiness, and the people of the country prosperity.
