President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has congratulated workers and veterans of the metallurgy industry on their professional holiday - Metallurgist's Day.

The metallurgy industry plays one of the key roles in the development of the national economy: it forms a solid foundation of the industrial complex, ensures smooth operation of almost all areas of the national economy.

The holiday unites almost 20 thousand professionals who have devoted themselves to a complex business that requires extreme responsibility, profound knowledge and special, fiery skill.

At the moment metallurgists with dignity pass the difficult stage of overcoming external challenges and do everything to make their products in demand both inside and outside the country. As a result, steel production this year has increased by a quarter and exports by a third.

I am confident that you will continue to work with full dedication for the prosperity of your native Belarus.

I wish strong health, inexhaustible energy, happiness, peace and prosperity to all the workers and veterans of the industry.
