Lukashenko appeals to states of Western Europe: We can be interesting and useful to each other
The countries of Eastern and Western Europe could and should develop together. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said this at a meeting in honor of Independence Day, BelTA informs.
"In fact, even having different national interests, values and traditions, we, the countries of Eastern and Western Europe, our common home, could and should develop together. We can be interesting and useful for each other in all spheres: economic, scientific, educational and cultural," said Alexander Lukashenko.
The states in different parts of Europe also have common problems, said the President: "We have enough problems. But we also have common problems. The climate is changing; we are fighting for crops almost every year. A whole bunch of energy issues, access to resources, including labor. Demographics. The growth of extremism, cybercrime. Western Europe is being hit by a wave of migration crisis. Sooner or later it will take over the eastern part.
"We need to cooperate and remember: no matter how much muscle, no matter how much military capability we build, no matter how much technology we develop, we are not stronger than nature. The pandemic has already put everyone in their place. What will happen next? What else could come out of the biolabs scattered across the Eurasian land? Once again, we've forgotten that not everything depends on us. That we are grains of sand in the universe, and our geopolitical games are dust. We have to stop. "
