Lukashenko: The Great Patriotic War taught Belarusians to appreciate life, peace and freedom
The Great Patriotic War taught Belarusians to appreciate life, peace and freedom. That is why today, July 3, on the day of liberation of Minsk, we celebrate the Independence Day of independent Belarus. This was stated by the President of Belarus at the ceremony of laying wreaths and flowers at the Mound of Glory memorial complex. This imposing monument, according to Alexander Lukashenko, was built in honor of the heroes, who liberated Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
The President of Belarus will lay a wreath at the Mound of Glory, BelTA informs. The event will also be attended by representatives of youth and students. The participants of the patriotic campaign "Train of Remembrance" are among the invitees. A real patriotic holiday has been unfolded near the Kurgan of Glory. Here you can recall the pages of the history of Belarus, try your hand at sports events, try a variety of treats and buy souvenirs with national colors. An exhibition of modern weapons and military equipment is also organized.
The patriotic cultural and educational campaign "Train of Memory" began on June 20 in Brest and ends July 6 in Moscow. Train stops include six cities in Belarus and eight cities in Russia. This year, besides students from Belarus and Russia, children from Armenia and Kyrgyzstan also take part in the campaign.
