Lukashenko: Considerable part of nuclear weapons has already been brought to Belarus
A considerable part of the Russian nuclear weapons planned to be brought to Belarus is already in the country. The President said this at the ceremony of presentation of epaulettes to the senior officers, revealing details of the talks with the head of the PMC Yevgeny Prigozhin on June 24, BelTA informs.
"Poles and others believe that Wagner will protect the transportation of nuclear weapons and so on. Wagner will not guard any nuclear weapons. Part of nuclear weapons, most of it has already been already brought to Belarus. I'm surprised they haven't traced it. Russians and Belarusians are guarding it," said the head of the state.
"We work together. We have no experience of this kind. Russians are maintaining it. We help to maintain these nuclear weapons. It turns out that this undertaking is not easy," added Alexander Lukashenko.
He stressed that such statements about PMCs are a common throw-in: "No Wagner will guard nuclear weapons. This is our task. I am personally responsible for the safety of weapons. Therefore, we will never go for this. We have enough guys who are capable of guarding this facility along with Russians."
