Delegation from Germany and Austria to take part in rally-requiem
Tomorrow a rally-requiem will be held in the territory of the former death camp of Trostenets. It will be dedicated to the memory of the victims of Nazism. President Alexander Lukashenko will take part in it.
It is planned that along with the Belarusian leader, the large-scale memorial complex will be visited by his colleagues. The delegations from Germany and Austria, led by the Presidents of these countries, Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Alexander Van der Bellen are expected there. The rally-requiem will also be visited by former Austrian President Heinz Fischer. Many other foreign guests will attend the ceremony, including representatives of state and public organizations from Austria, Germany, Israel, Poland and the Czech Republic. Among them are Secretary of State of the Cabinet of the President of Poland Krzysztof Szczerski, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Vojtech Filip. The World Jewish Congress will be represented by Deputy CEO for Diplomacy Maram Stern. The Head of the Belarusian state will hold meetings with the Presidents of Austria and Germany. This is an opportunity for the leaders of the countries to discuss not only the issues of joint commemoration of the victims of Nazism, but also bilateral cooperation and the prospects for building multilateral cooperation in the region.
