Prime Minister submits draft program of government activities ending 2020 to President

The draft program of government activities ending 2020 was one of the subjects of today's working meeting of the President of Belarus with the Prime Minister.

The document must be submitted to Parliament not later than Thursday. In the beginning of the month the Council of Ministers decided to finalize the program. The main focus is on improving the welfare of people. In this regard, the topic of pensions became a separate block of conversation in the Palace of Independence. This year payments were indexed twice. According to government estimates, the real increase in the average size of pensions, taking into account inflation, will be about 8%.

The main task for the government is to ensure growth by improving the efficiency of the economy. Its competitiveness depends on digital transformation, growth of small and medium-sized businesses and the solution of employment issues, as well as the export of high value-added goods and services, the uniform development of regions with the opening of new industries and the promotion of infrastructure. All new proposals are included in the proposed program of government activities.
