President of Belarus holds talks with Chairman of Board of CITIC Group

Alexander Lukashenko welcomes the direct investment of Chinese companies in projects in Belarus.

The President announced this at a meeting with chairman of the board of the CITIC Corporation Chang Zhenming. The top managers of this concern (which is included in the list of 500 largest companies of the world) are frequent visitors in Belarus. The current visit of the delegation from China was saturated. The results were discussed at a meeting with the head of the Belarusian state. Several projects are being implemented now.

Large-scale construction of highly technological agro-industrial production has been launched recently. CITIC Group is a general contractor and shareholder. In 3 years, a modern enterprise will be built, which will supply the livestock sector with essential amino acids, as well as the opportunity to receive high-effective feed. It is planned to create more than a thousand jobs. This will be the basis for the development of bio-technological production and training of specialists in this field. The products will be used both for own needs in the country, and will be delivered to the markets of Russia, Ukraine, EU countries, China. It is planned that about half of all manufactured products will be exported.

The Chinese concern has built three cement plants in our country. Specialists from China are also involved in the modernization of the Orsha Flax Factory. They are engaged in the construction of a business district in Minsk. Businessmen from China view Belarus as a convenient platform for promoting their activities in Europe. The foundation for such cooperation was laid by trustful political dialogue and friendship of the leaders of the countries. The present time is called the best period in the history of development of the Belarusian-Chinese relations.
