Alimbekova changes her surname

The Olympic biathlon champion we know as Dinara Alimbekova will start the race for the first time on January 19 under the surname of her husband, Smolskaya. Dinara changed her maiden name just before the domestic stages of the Commonwealth Cup, which will be held in Raubichi in two weeks. Our legendary athlete thought about it earlier, but was in no hurry to make a decision. In autumn Dinara and Anton Smolskiy got married. And just on the eve of the main season the Belarusian decided to take such a step.

Dinara Smolskaya, the 2018 Olympic biathlon champion:

“From the next races, from the Commonwealth stage in Raubichi, I will already have my husband's surname. Dinara Smolskaya sounds so cool.”

The fourth and fifth stages of the Commonwealth Cup will be held from January 19 to 29. For the fans, apart from the first-class wrestling, there will be organized recreation areas, as well as special transport to take them from the capital to Raubichi. The competitions will be broadcasted on the TV channel Belarus 5.
