Aryna Sabalenka reaches semifinals of WTA-500 tournament in Washington, DC

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka has reached the semifinals of the WTA-500 tournament in Washington with the prize fund of 922 thousand dollars, BelTA reports.

Last night the third racket of the planet defeated another Belarusian - Victoria Azarenka - 6:4, 6:4. In the semifinals Sabalenka's opponent will be Czech tennis player Maria Bouskova (43rd number of the world ranking). In the 1/8 finals Aryna Sabalenka defeated Russian tennis player Kamilla Rakhimova (105) - 7:5, 4:6, 6:4.

The competition in the American capital will end on August 4. The winner will earn 142 thousand dollars and 500 rating points. Last year's champion was American tennis player Corey Gauff.
