Belarus ready to host World Ice Hockey Championship in 2021 while ensuring safety of participants and fans

As Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said today at a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and holding of the forum, the calls for a boycott are invalid.

Our country is preparing in the regular mode: the issues of ticket program, insurance and modernization of Minsk Arena are discussed. And, of course, we would like to work in harmony with Latvia, because the competition program in Minsk and Riga is divided into two parts.

The head of the Belarusian Ice Hockey Federation Dmitry Baskov told about the ticket program, which is designed for fans: every Belarusian will be able to buy tickets to the championship matches at reduced prices. According to Baskov, our federation is in contact with the International Ice Hockey Federation, which has created a group of experts to assess the situation. Baskov himself emotionally reacted to calls for a boycott of the forum, which are heard both inside and outside the country.
