Belarusian Tennis Federation files appeal to CAS

The restoration of rights of the Belarusian tennis players, allowing the national teams of our country to participate in the Davis Cup and the Billie Jean King Cup, as well as the possibility to hold international tournaments in Belarus. These are the goals of the Belarusian Tennis Federation, which the filed an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne against the decision of the International Tennis Federation to suspend its membership in the ITF.

According to the Chairman of the BTF Sergei Rutenko, such a step to protect athletes can be an example for federations in other sports.

Meanwhile, the Belarusian tennis players perform in individual tournaments. Yesterday, Aryna Sabalenka reached the second round in Hertogenbosch. Her next opponent is Arianne Hartono. Ilya Ivashka beat American Mackenzie MacDonald in the men's singles and in the next round will play versus Emil Ruusuvori.
