Belarusian Paralympians continue to win medals at Tokyo Games
Elizaveta Petrenko won a bronze medal in the javelin throw. On her final try she threw the projectile to the mark of 38 meters 99 centimeters. And that is a new European record! The medalist is 19 years old, she is from Shklov District, and she joined the Paralympic team quite recently. Her success in Tokyo was not an accident. This year Yelizaveta already climbed up to the second step of the podium of the European Championship. President Alexander Lukashenko congratulated her on winning the bronze medal.

Another Belarusian athlete, Alexei Talai, also competed for medals today. He fought in the qualification of the 150-meter medley event. However, the Belarusian had to fight with rivals from another class. Unfortunately, the organizers did not allocate a separate category for athletes from S1 category, which refers to Alexei Talai. But the Belarusian has no lack of character. And even in such conditions he fought for every second on the course.
At the moment the Belarusian team occupies the 14th place in the overall ranking.
