Belarusian tennis players demonstrate successful performance in Australia

In a bitterly contested WTA tournament in Adelaide Victoria Azarenka defeated Australian Priscilla Hon 6-3, 7-5 to reach the quarter-finals. In the next stage our compatriot will play against Polish Iga Natalia Świątek.

In Melbourne, Aliaksandra Sasnovich made her way to the quarter-finals as well. The Belarusian defeated the representative of Sweden, Rebecca Peterson 6-2, 6-4.

It took Egor Gerasimov 1 hour and 42 minutes (113th in the rankings) to overcome the 62nd-ranked Italian Gianluca Mager in three sets and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Adelaide tournament. The Belarusian will fight with the second seeded Russian Karen Khachanov to reach the semifinals.
