Summer Paralympic Games in Sochi close

Minsk, Polotsk and Brest are the three main centers where Paralympic fencing is developing in Belarus. This week children from these schools have been competing for medals of the summer Paralympic Games "We are together. Sports" and achieved great success.

Kristina Feklistova and Anastasia Kostyuchkova became champions of the tournament. Polotsk native Andrey Pranevich not only won gold in his favorite discipline - epee fencing (he became the Rio Paralympics champion in that discipline). He also won silver in sabre fencing.

The Belarusian national team has 61 medals at the Summer Paralympics.

Today is the last day of the competition and the closing ceremony of the Summer Paralympics. We would remind you that our team takes the second place in the informal medal standings with 61 medals. The podium was occupied by fencers, swimmers, athletes and representatives of table tennis. In total the Belarusians have now won 25 gold, 9 silver and 17 bronze medals. The team returns to Minsk on Sunday closer to noon.
