Lukashenko predicts collapse of international Olympic movement in case of further sanctions
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko predicts the collapse of the international Olympic movement in case of further sanctions. He said this while answering questions from employees of organizations at the National Airport in Minsk, BelTA informs.
The President noted the initiative of Russian President Vladimir Putin to hold the BRICS Games: "I supported him and praised him for initiating BRICS competitions."
The members of this association - Brazil, Russia, South Africa, China and India - are major world powers with huge populations. "If BRICS supports it, we will join these competitions at once. And many countries will join. And the Olympic movement, which exists now, will collapse, because everyone is fighting for money advertising. And the more viewers come India and China - that's advertising, that's money. That's why they are not fools there in the International Olympic Committee. They realize that a few more steps like this and they will ruin this movement," the head of state emphasized.
The President advised to ignore the sanctions. And this applies not only to sports: "We should not pay attention to it. If only a human head gets loaded with these sanctions, then there is no need to work.”
