A. Lukashenko: Dinamo-Minsk should shake up entire Belarusian football
At the opening ceremony of the Dinamo-Yuni Stadium for children and youth, Alexander Lukashenko has noted that football in Belarus needs a serious shake-up.
The Dinamo-Minsk club did not have its own home arena for training until now. And today there are three fields with artificial turf and outdoor lighting. The Stadium can accommodate more than 5 000 fans. It turns out that there is a high-quality infrastructure, a well-built system of training young talents, and we are only striving for results. Dinamo-Minsk was the champion in 2004 last time. The national team is also weak.
Both the main and the youth team lost their matches against the Czech Republic and Iceland in the qualifiers for the World and European Championships yesterday. The President outlines that Dinamo-Minsk team must shake up the Belarusian football. Everyone from young athletes to spectators and sponsors will benefit. The training ground will contribute to this.
Alexander Lukashenko was presented with Dinamo-Minsk jersey with № 1! The President also talked to the veterans of the club. However, the Belarusian leader also invited the heads of several key Sports Federations today. There are plenty of problems in sports.
About 23 000 people play football in Belarus today. The Dinamo-Yuni complex has its own "Football Academy" now. Juniors from 5 to 18 years old are engaged. There are 21 specialists licensed by UEFA among the coaching staff.
