Baby Fox Lesik becomes official mascot of II European Games
The long-awaited presentation of the multisport forum mascot was held yesterday in one of the capital’s cinemas.
The concept of the event was celebration of the birthday of the mascot, which was attended by pupils of specialized children's institutions, athletes, star ambassadors of the Games: Olympic rowing champion Alexander Bogdanovich and representative of the UN Children's Fund in Belarus Dr. Rashed Mustafa Sarwar. Any Belarusian could take part in the republican competition for the development of the mascot of the European Games - from amateurs to professional designers.
About 2 thousand applications participated in the competition. Preference was given to the baby fox. The mascot is wearing a baseball cap, shorts and a tank top, the colors of which correspond to the spirit of the competition. Black color symbolizes determination, the yellow color – cheerfulness, the green color – development. Blue means invincibility, and red is energy. Ambassadors of the II European games took part in the official presentation of the mascot.
Daniel Yastremsky who has recently performed on the stage of Junior Eurovision, was next to Lesik today. It is expected that the young performer will become the music ambassador of the II European Games.
By the way, the whole presentation was held in a warm atmosphere. The organizers awarded authors of the three best works with diplomas, but the final version of the talisman was developed by professional designers.
