EU may “punish” Hungary

The EU may “punish” Hungary for the country's attitude to anti-Russian sanctions and refusal to help Ukraine.

European colleagues of Viktor Orban are apparently tired of his position on the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Now they have decided that in the next composition of the European Commission representatives of Hungary will get a low ministerial post, writes Politico.

“Orban has consistently been Putin's closest ally in the EU, and European leaders are increasingly irritated by his foot-dragging on sanctions and opposition to allocating funds to Kiev,” the piece says.
