Will the number of Latvians in Belarus soon increase?

According to estimates of the Latvian Association of borrowers, now more than 100 thousand Latvians are experiencing difficulties with various payments, of which about 10 thousand have already gone through the insolvency procedure, and about 15 thousand have started it.

According to the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Borrowers Janis Abolins, the situation in Latvia will worsen even more with the onset of the fall. The reason is simple: utility bills will increase significantly in the fall and not everyone will be able to pay them. In this regard, many residents of Latvia will have no choice but to pack a suitcase and go to seek happiness elsewhere.

And one of the countries where Latvians can move to is Belarus. After all, the residents of Latvia have repeatedly noted the high standard of living in our country, lower prices for goods, cleanliness and order in the streets. Therefore, it is quite likely that some Latvians will consider Belarus as a new home.
