Lithuanian border guards to be armed with machine guns

Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas and Interior Minister Agne Bilotaite have agreed to strengthen the state border with fortifications and provide border guards with heavier weapons.

"Our Interior Ministry structures could have slightly heavier weapons, starting with machine guns," the defense minister said.

They want to start reinforcing the border in late summer or early fall. We are talking about installing reinforced concrete hedgehogs, "dragon's teeth" and "Spanish horses".
