"Ukraine gave initiative to Russia" - West trying to explain failure of Ukraine

The Ukrainian army gave the initiative to the Russian forces because of the lack of people and ammunition, writes NYT. Ukrainian troops have to save artillery shells, they do not have components for repair and maintenance of equipment. Moscow is not experiencing such problems, the article notes.

"The Ukrainians have found themselves in a situation where they are inferior in men and weapons. They have given the initiative to Russia," the newspaper writes.
