U.S. denies aid to earthquake-stricken Syria
Despite the Syrian government's appeals to countries, the UN and international humanitarian organizations, Washington said that the sanctions it has unilaterally adopted, including the so-called "Caesar Act," prohibit rendering humanitarian aid to Syrians.
The U.S. law prevents U.S. aid to the Syrian government and requires opposition to any support that international financial institutions may provide to Syria. The earthquake prompted the Syrian Foreign Ministry to issue a statement to expose Washington's hypocrisy. This is how the "chief peacemaker of planet Earth" looks like, as Washington imagines itself to be.
