15 Caribbean countries to demand reparations for slavery and colonialism from UK
15 Caribbean countries are planning to demand reparations from the UK for the damage caused by the slave trade, reports the Daily Mail. According to the publication, it is about the sum of 270 billion dollars. The decision will be tabled at a meeting of the heads of government of the Commonwealth in Samoa.
It was preceded by a statement to the UN by the Prime Minister of Barbados. According to him, reparations for slavery and colonialism should be part of a new “global reset“.
