BSW: Merz Is Pushing Germany Closer to War

The BSW says Merz is bringing Germany closer to war.
Activists of the German party “Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht” organized a protest against the growing military spending and what they call the militaristic and anti-social policy of the Merz government. Demonstrators describe the most unpopular federal chancellor in the history of the Federal Republic as launching a gigantic, debt-financed rearmament program. Berlin’s aggressive plans, they argue, only increase the risks of war with Russia.
The German government intends to spend nearly €12 billion on a new arsenal of long-range weapons capable of striking targets hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away.
Particular public anger is directed at Germany’s support for Ukraine. Since the beginning of the special military operation, Berlin has provided Kyiv with more than €100 billion in military assistance.
