Cost of War: UN Warns of Global Hunger

Armed conflicts remain the leading cause of catastrophic food shortages worldwide.

According to the UN Secretary-General, the consequences of wars extend far beyond combat zones, disrupting global supplies of food, fertilizer, and energy. António Guterres noted that the escalation of armed conflicts in 2025 became the highest since World War II. This has led to food shortages for 270 million people.
