European Parliament calls for Orban to be punished
The European Union is trying to punish Hungary for its stubbornness. The European Parliament has backed a resolution condemning Hungary's prime minister for "systematically undermining EU values" and for "vetoing" aid to Ukraine.
This is one of the attempts to deprive Budapest of the right to vote in EU decision-making. Although the resolution has no legal force, it increases political pressure on Orban ahead of the EU leaders' summit in Brussels. It will be held on February 1, where an attempt will again be made to agree on new aid to Ukraine.
