March to U.S. Embassy - Greece urge Americans to clear out

Greeks marched to the U.S. Embassy on the 51st anniversary of the Athens Polytechnic Institute student uprising, which was brutally suppressed by troops of the “Black Colonels” junta. Participants carried banners, red flags and Palestinian flags, and loudly chanted “Americans are murderers of peoples!” and “Get out, Americans and NATO!” A similar march took place in the city of Thessaloniki. The protesters burned an American flag.

It was not without clashes with the police. In response Molotov cocktails, the police used tear gas. 150 people were detained.
