"Bobrowniki" checkpoint suspended its operation: More than 200 trucks left in the waiting area
Today at 14:00, Belarusian time, Poland suspended the operation of "Bobrowniki" checkpoint on the Polish-Belarusian border. It will now be impossible to get into the territory of Poland from Grodno Region after the closure of checkpoint "Kuznitsa Bialostocki" in autumn 2021 at the initiative of Poles.
Andrei Shoka, head of border control of Grodno Border Guard Group:
Naturally, some people wanted to cross the state border before the time announced by the Republic of Poland to unilaterally close the checkpoint "Bobrowniki". Of course, it affected our activity a little, but we were ready for that. We had enough forces and means for that. Naturally, the state border cannot remain unguarded. We will continue to guard the state border. In doing so, of course, we will take measures to strengthen other areas, redirect our officers to other checkpoints, where border control is carried out and citizens cross the state border.
Now, Belarus and Poland will be linked only by the checkpoint "Kozlovichi" for trucks, and "Brest" for cars.
