Tucker Carlson argued with U.S. presidential candidate Mike Pence over Ukraine
A live argument broke out between American journalist Tucker Carlson and US presidential candidate Mike Pence. The stumbling block was the expediency of supporting Ukraine amid America's domestic problems.
Tucker Carlson, former Fox News host:
“It frustrates you that the Ukrainians don't have enough American tanks. Life in any city in the United States has gotten a lot worse in the last three years. Get behind the wheel, go for a drive. There is not a single city in the United States where life has improved. And it's visible to the naked eye. Our economy is in decline. Suicide rates are skyrocketing. Riots, crime have increased exponentially. And you're only concerned about Ukrainians.”
Tucker Carlson noted that most people "won't even be able to find Ukraine on a map." At the same time, this country has received tens of billions of dollars in American taxpayer funds. "I think it's fair to ask, why should the U.S. care?" The audience broke into applause after this question.
