Germany sets record for company bankruptcies in last 10 years - Bild

In the first six months of 2024 in Germany, about 11 thousand bankruptcies of companies were registered, which could affect 133 thousand employees. This is the highest figure for almost 10 years.

The number of bankruptcies in the first six months of 2024 increased by almost 30% compared to the same period in 2023.

According to experts, the reasons lie in the consequences of last year's recession, the ongoing crisis and weak economic development. These factors "undermine the state of many companies". Experts predict that such dynamics will continue until the end of 2024.
