Monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya dismantled in Kiev, monuments to Pushkin, Bulgakov and Shchors under threat

Ukraine continues to erase the historical memory. A monument to Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya was dismantled in Kiev. The seventeen-year-old partisan who was executed by the Nazis in November 1941 while trying to burn down a house in occupied territory, was the first woman to be named the Hero of the Soviet Union.

Zoya's monument was located near the railway station in the central part of the city. According to the local Telegram channel, monuments to Pushkin, Bulgakov and Shchors are also under the threat of elimination
