Brussels Allocates €6.1 Billion to Ukraine

Ukraine has once again been given funds to continue the war. The European Commission announced the allocation of over €6 billion to Kyiv under a funding program.

According to the head of the European Commission, the funds will be used to purchase air defense systems, radars, and missiles. Ursula von der Leyen confirmed that the funds are being disbursed under a €90 billion funding program that will run until the end of 2027. According to her, Ukraine has already received over €8 billion under this program since the beginning of June, and Kyiv has so far submitted arms procurement contracts worth €16 billion to the European Commission.

At that, all contracts under this program must be approved by Brussels. Moreover, orders must be placed with priority in EU countries.
