Belarusian farmers count on substantial bonuses from investment in agriculture
This year a rich harvest is expected in Belarus. The country will provide for itself and will earn money on the sale of surpluses. In a difficult period for the global economy, it is important to quickly orientate and not to miss a chance. The President stresses that and sets the task of reaching the harvest of 10 million tons of cereals and up to a million tons of rapeseed. Another important aspect is the procurement of fodder.
Ensure food security of the country
Ensuring food security in an unstable global economy is the number one task for Belarusian farmers. This was also mentioned by the head of state during his recent visit to the Vitebsk Region. The present-day realities are an opportunity for the agro-industrial complex to maximize its potential. When food prices are rising all over the world, our agricultural enterprises can not only provide the country with food, but also strengthen the Belarusian economy. There are all conditions for that.
Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Republic of Belarus:
"The situation suggests that we should work hard this and next year in agriculture, as your products, especially outside the country, cost a lot of money. Food prices have skyrocketed tremendously. So you have to be able to take what we have to. It's a golden age for agriculture, frankly speaking. No one knows how long it will last. But I am convinced that this year and the next onewill be ours - those who are engaged in agricultural production and food production. So no matter how difficult it may be, you must take your money these years, in order to improve the financial situation, to repay credits and to continue working quietly."
Brest and Gomel regions lead in forage harvesting
The fodder procurement is no less important stage in the agro-calendar. By the way, the plan of the first cut of grass in Gomel and Brest regions is completely fulfilled. The central region of the country is getting closer to the cherished 100%.
Agrarians of the country are planning to get more than 9.5 million tons of forage this year. The threshing target includes 10 million tons of grain and up to a million tons of rapeseed. The food security of the Belarusians and a stable economy stand behind these figures.
