Belarus ready to cooperate with Kazakhstan on localization of agricultural machinery production
Belarus and Kazakhstan are betting on industrial cooperation. Our countries have solid experience in creating assembly plants: the most notable - with Minsk Tractor Plant. The existing joint capacities allow producing about 10 thousand tractors and thousands of combines a year in Kazakhstan. But the partners will not limit themselves to this.
Today in Minsk the parties discussed the prospects of realization of new projects at the meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation. Minsk and Astana have a mutual interest in the production of more than fifty models of Belarusian machinery, which is in demand in Kazakhstan. There are agreements on the production of Belarusian novelties, in particular, grain harvesters. Belarus is ready to actively cooperate in localization of machinery production. This will help to gain a foothold in the friendly Kazakhstani market in the long term.
Nikolai Snopkov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus:
“There is an opportunity for growth both in terms of existing nomenclature and future nomenclature, including tillage and other aggregates used in agriculture. Plus, we have developed competencies in the production of fire engines. Here we also see the possibility and necessity of their production on the territory of Kazakhstan.”
