Belarus and Serbia ready to step up economic cooperation
Belarus and Serbia are ready to increase the volume of mutual trade and increase economic cooperation. This was announced today at the 11th meeting of the intergovernmental commission in Minsk. The areas of greatest interest are industry, agriculture, the IT sector and tourism. New cooperation ties are planned taking into account the wishes of business. A protocol on trade and economic cooperation was signed. Particular attention will be paid at the level of government agencies of the two countries to the promotion of goods in the markets of the EAEU countries and the European Union as well as attracting investment and solving problematic issues for the business community in mutual trade.
Business negotiations took place between the two countries in Minsk yesterday. Several projects that are planned to be implemented this year were discussed. The largest one is a joint venture for the production of veterinary medicines. If all the agreements and contracts are fulfilled, the trade turnover will be tripled up to half a billion dollars in the next two or three years.
