Belarus and Japan have vast untapped potential
Belarus is counting on growth in Japan’s investment activity and an increase in trade turnover. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Lyashenko today at a meeting with a delegation of the Japanese Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States. According to the deputy head of the government, $ 81.5 million of mutual trade is far from the potential of Minsk and Tokyo.
Foreign guests note the rapid pace of development of the IT sector in Belarus, but Japanese businesses have little information about the potential of the Belarusian economy. As noted by the government today, the focus will be on increasing export potential and expanding contacts with Japanese business.
The first step to this is the Belarusian-Japanese business forum. Today, it gathered in the national library representatives of more than 70 Belarusian and 25 large Japanese companies.
