Belarusian delegation holds negotiations at import exhibition in Shanghai

Goods under the "Made in Belarus" brand enjoy greater popularity at the VII China International Import Exhibition. At the forum, the Belarusian delegation, led by the Minister of Agriculture and Food, Anatoly Linevich, held a big negotiating marathon.
Meetings were held with the heads of a number of provinces of the People's Republic of China, profile agricultural organizations and food companies, the leadership of the Union of Foreign Investments of the Chinese Investment Association and investor companies.
In total, about 60 companies from Belarus brought their products adapted to the Chinese market and business proposals: from food to industrial and high-tech sectors.
Anatoli Linevich:
"Today about 60 companies take part in the exhibition. Everything is based on our traditional meat and dairy products. The assortment and classification of goods are expanding. We started with the supply of beef and milk powder, and today we have reached the supply of confectionery, rapeseed and soybean oil, ice cream."
"We are targeting technological issues. We want to build fifth-generation greenhouses for horticultural production. I think we will agree on the supply of equipment and technological support,” the minister said.
The sum of deals at the Expo in 2023 exceeded $78 billion. Belarusians signed contracts, agreements and memorandums for almost Br450 million. But it should be understood that this is also a plan for the future.
As for the total volume of cooperation between our countries, Belarus and China traded for $8 billion in 2023. This year promises to be no less profitable. China is among the top three countries investing in Belarus.
